There is no best FTMO alternative in the abstract. The right firm depends on which part of FTMO is costing you money, and the four reasons below lead to different answers.
I have limited this page to firms whose current terms I could verify on their own pages: FTMO, The 5%ers and Vest Markets, with the FTMO Futures figures checked on 25 October 2026 and everything else on 27 October 2026.
If the fee is the problem, The5ers' High Stakes is $405 at $100,000 against €540 for FTMO's 2-Step. If you want instant funding, Vest Markets runs evaluation accounts from $40 and advertises instant funded accounts. If you want futures, FTMO's own futures product starts at $119 a month. Leaving FTMO is often a product switch, not a firm switch.
Key Takeaways
- Name the constraint before you shop: fee, funding speed, asset class or a rule you keep failing.
- The5ers is the lower-fee evaluation, not the easier one: 8% maximum loss against FTMO's 10%.
- Vest Markets is the instant and crypto-settlement option, with a much lower capital ceiling.
- No prop account is transferable. A switch means a new fee and a new evaluation.
Choose by the Reason You Are Leaving
The table is the whole argument. Each row names the constraint, the alternative that answers it, and the term you give up in exchange.
| Your reason for leaving | Alternative | Verified term | What you give up |
|---|---|---|---|
| The entry fee | The5ers High Stakes | $405 for $100,000, 8% maximum loss, 4% daily | 2 percentage points of room; MT5 only; $4,000 payout cap |
| You want funding without an evaluation | Vest Markets | Instant funded accounts advertised; evaluation plans $40 to $415 | Capital ceiling and a crypto-only payout rail |
| You want futures | FTMO Futures | Growth from $119 a month, Pro from $139 | A monthly fee instead of a one-time one |
| The consistency rule | The5ers High Stakes | No consistency percentage published on the plan | You trade a 3-profitable-day activity gate instead |
| You need more drawdown | Stay on FTMO's 2-Step | 10% static, 5% daily | Nothing; this is the widest floor in the comparison |
If the Fee Is the Problem: The 5%ers
The5ers' High Stakes plan is the direct like-for-like swap: two phases, a 10% first target under the NEW rules, and a 5% verification target. At $100,000 it costs $405 against €540 for FTMO's 2-Step. The Classic rule set on the same page costs $455 and asks for 8% in phase one instead of 10%.
The cheaper fee buys less room, not more. Maximum loss is 8% against FTMO's 10%, and the daily limit is 4% against 5%. On $100,000 that is $8,000 against $10,000 and $4,000 against $5,000. A trader who has ever breached a 5% daily limit should not read the lower price as a better deal.
The other trade-offs are practical: MT5 Hedge only, a $500 minimum withdrawal and a $4,000 cap per payout request on the 100K plan. If you withdraw often in small amounts, the cap rarely binds; if you plan one large withdrawal after a good quarter, it does. The full line-by-line comparison sits on FTMO vs The 5%ers.
If You Want Instant Funding: Vest Markets
Vest Markets is the only firm on this page that advertises instant funded accounts without an evaluation, alongside a standard evaluation ladder. Its published evaluation plans run from $5,000 to $50,000 with one-time fees of $40, $80, $210 and $415, a 10% target, a 3% daily loss limit and an 80% split.
Its differentiator is settlement. Profits are paid in USDC directly to a crypto wallet, and the firm markets withdrawals as immediate. That is genuinely faster than FTMO's 14-day cycle, and it is also a different kind of counterparty risk: you need to be comfortable holding and converting stablecoins.
Two caveats from its own homepage, checked 27 October 2026. The hero banner says funding up to $25,000 while the plan table lists a $50,000 tier, so confirm the size you want at checkout. And its disclosure states that instant access does not guarantee a payout. Neither point is a reason to avoid the firm; both are reasons to read the plan terms before paying.

If You Want Futures: FTMO Futures, Not a New Firm
Most “FTMO alternatives” lists send futures traders to a different company. Check the product first: FTMO runs its own futures programme, and staying puts your history, dashboard and payout record in one place.
FTMO Futures charges monthly rather than per attempt. Growth starts at $119 a month for a $3,000 target, and Pro starts at $139 for the same target with a tighter daily loss rule. Reset fees apply if you breach, and the consistency rule is 40% on Growth and 50% on Pro during evaluation, with none once funded. Those figures were checked on 25 October 2026; monthly pricing changes more often than challenge pricing, so confirm at checkout.
The trade-off is the recurring cost. A $119 monthly fee over six months is $714, against a one-time €540 for the 2-Step CFD challenge. Futures also means a different instrument set, data fees at some brokers and a flat 4:10pm ET close.
If You Keep Failing Consistency: Change the Rule, Not the Firm
FTMO's Consistency rule applies to accounts opened from 12 October 2026. On the 2-Step, your best day must be 30% or less of total profit before a reward; on the 1-Step the limit is 50%. Exceeding it is not a breach, but it delays the payout until you trade enough to dilute the best day.
If that is the rule ending your attempts, the cheapest fix may be inside FTMO: move from the 1-Step to the 2-Step and the limit drops from 50% to 30%, which is the wrong direction. Move to The5ers and there is no percentage at all, only three profitable days per phase at 0.5% or more. That is the honest reason to switch firms rather than products.
Before you switch, check whether you actually breached consistency or a drawdown limit, because the fix differs. FTMO drawdown rules explained works through the limit arithmetic with real dollar examples.
What You Cannot Take With You
No prop firm account is transferable. Your FTMO balance, reward history and evaluation progress stay with FTMO, and no reputable firm credits another firm's passed evaluation. A switch means paying a new fee and starting again, which is why the decision should be driven by a rule you cannot pass, not by a seasonal discount.
Budget for two attempts at the new firm before you compare it with staying. A $405 evaluation that takes two attempts costs $810, which is more than FTMO's €540 even after the currency gap. The cheapest sticker is not always the cheapest route to a payout, which is the argument in prop firm payout rates compared.
What FTMO Still Does Better
An alternatives page that cannot name FTMO's advantages is a sales page. FTMO offers four platforms (MT4, MT5, cTrader and DXtrade), a flat 90% split on the 1-Step, a refund of the 2-Step fee with the first reward and a fixed 14-day payout cycle. It has paid more than $650 million in rewards, checked 23 October 2026.
It also has the widest floor in this comparison. If your problem is drawdown rather than price, the correct alternative to FTMO's 1-Step is often FTMO's 2-Step, not another firm.
Verdict: Name the Constraint First
Write down the single rule or cost that ended your last FTMO attempt, then pick the row that answers it. Fee: The5ers. Funding speed and crypto settlement: Vest Markets. Futures: FTMO Futures. Consistency: The5ers. Drawdown: stay on the 2-Step.
If two or three rows apply at once, you do not have an alternatives problem; you have a position-sizing problem, and another evaluation fee will not fix it. Fix the risk first, then buy the account that matches the strategy you actually trade.
